It was a little humid but not too warm, when I met my friend Utpal on the corner of my street for our usual sunday morning run.We started off talking about what had gone with us the day before. After running for about a mile or so utpal told me that he had a problem with his left calf.He asked me how far I wanted to run,I could see it was aproblem for him,so I said what ever he wanted to do was fine with me .We then made our way home.Whenever one of us has a problem like this we always listen to what the other wants to do .This is why we have remained friends for so long.I must say that we have lots of dissagreements on other things though. But that is life.

When I was younger I used to write poetry, and my method was to sit down and think of some subject to write about. Some 5 years ago now I just started to get words coming into my head with an urging to write them down, which I would and be quite surprised with the results. The whole process was very spontaneaous ,and before I knew it I had completed a book of poems,I now have 6 books in print and will share some of them with you as days go by.

While walking to work in the mornings I pass a sign that says; "Don't count the things you do,
Do the things that count."
It reminds me that in my life I try to be inspired by all things that go on around me,and by the people that I come in contact with in one way or another. In the same way I try to live my life and do things in my life that will inspire others in some way.I hope that as this blog progresses that I can share some of these things with you.

Each day can be interesting. This morning I awoke feeling not so good ,with a sinus problem that i think was brought on by the weather. After feeling a little not so good I went for a short run, that made it feel better. The wonder of a short nap in the afternoon and I was in good shape by the early evening. We learn how to get through each day the best we can.

Ok I was born and raised in England,my father was from Yugoslavia, and I say Yugoslavia because that was the name of the country when I was born and still that when my father died.My mother was english, though she was born in Canada.I grew up in an area of England that was quite rural, but had the advantage of a small town not too far away.

This morning got out the door at 7:30 to run with my friend Utpal.I planned to run for about an hour,he had a different plan, and we ended up running for 3 hours. He plans to run a marathon at the end of August, but I had just run one 3 weeks ago,so after about 2 hours it was getting difficult for me .I mixed in some walking and got a Blackberry slurpee at seven eleven, and this got me through the work out.A tough but successful training run,and still the whole day ahead of me.

Yesterday it rained all day,the temp's were about 20 degrees below the normal average for this time of the year.but as is natures want today is bright and cool and dry.I ran a 2 mile race this morning and managed a time of 14 mins 54 seconds which is not bad for me at the moment ,but I hope to improve that as the summer goes on.Each new day brings new treasures.

Interesting start to the day here in New York, rain started at about 5am and they say that there could be anything from 1" of rain to 5" of rain before it all ends. The temp's are also quite cool for July only a high of 69f.Not a day to say too much, since all our thoughts are with those in London.
God Bless you all!

I was really happy to hear this morning that London had been awarded the 2012 olympics.London was the last place I lived before I moved to New York,it will be the first time in the UK for more than 60 years, and I think they will do a good job, like they did with the Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Now here in New York after a little rain last night ,it has turned into a mild sauna.Time seems to go really quicklyfor some reason.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA !! what a beautiful morning on this special day.I walked 3 miles over to a friends mother's house and spent a couple of hours helping do some gardening and cleaning her garage. Then with a backpack full of my work clothes I ran back to my house. It seems unusually quiet here in New York for 4th of July, but I am sure things will liven up later in the day.I hope all of you have a nice day and stay safe.

When I went out for my run this morning it was 66F ( 17C ),beautiful weather for running.I seem to have recovered from my marathon 2 weeks ago and my hard week at work.and though I only ran 5 miles ,it was quality running.I don't know how long this nice weather will keep up,but it is really appreciated.I hope things are just as nice for all of you out there.
