It was a little humid but not too warm, when I met my friend Utpal on the corner of my street for our usual sunday morning run.We started off talking about what had gone with us the day before. After running for about a mile or so utpal told me that he had a problem with his left calf.He asked me how far I wanted to run,I could see it was aproblem for him,so I said what ever he wanted to do was fine with me .We then made our way home.Whenever one of us has a problem like this we always listen to what the other wants to do .This is why we have remained friends for so long.I must say that we have lots of dissagreements on other things though. But that is life.

So it was a nice morning again ,though it felt a little humid. There was a decent crowd for the 2 mile race and I managed a time of 15 min 03 sec,I am just happy to get out and run a race once a week if I can,and accept what ever the result is cheerfully.

So it is Friday, and I must say what a lovely friday it was too.The morning was nice and cool and the afternoon was not too warm, not exactly a usual end of July day in New York, but I am not complaining.I will try and run my 2 mile race in the morning and hopefully do well.

Today was a really nice day,and at around 5pm a friend of mine from Serbia, named Srdjan Stojanovic finished a really long race of 3100 miles. It took him 46 days and about 11 hours. It is the 3rd fastest time ever recorded for this distance. You can find out more by going to and looking at the 3100 mile race page, enjoy.

I think that today was the hottest day so far in New York it reached 96f but with the humidity which was only about 46% it felt like I am including something to ponder.

Tuesday, July 26, 2005

I think that I may said this before, but it is amazing how the days seem to go by very quickly, when you are comfortable in your life.Even when it is a hot and sticky summer evening in New York, good friends make all the difference!

Monday, July 25, 2005

The first half of today was really nice cool but with a few sprinkles of rain.the evening was so different, warm and sticky.Of course it is almost the end of july so here in New York we have to expect that sort of thing.

We are having a few spring type days ( warm spring days ).yesterday I got to spend the whole day outside looking after a friends tennis court.Today I went for a nice run with my friend Utpal. Finally the tour of France is over and once again ( but for the last time ) Lance has won, congratulations go out to him.I got to speak with a few friends in foreign lands this morning and will spend the afternoon relaxing and preparing for the coming week.

One more for now

Come tomorrow
The Sun is going to shine
The Oak tree and the Pine
Will rustle in the wind

Come tomorrow
The day will surely come
When life is full fo fun
And there is no more sorrow.

A Few Of My Poems

It's my birthday
and such
a lovely time

I got lots of presents
and all of them
are mine.
It's warm
inside my mother's arms

It's warm
inside my mother's heart

It's safe
inside my mother's eyes

It's safe
inside her smiling face.

When I was younger I used to write poetry, and my method was to sit down and think of some subject to write about. Some 5 years ago now I just started to get words coming into my head with an urging to write them down, which I would and be quite surprised with the results. The whole process was very spontaneaous ,and before I knew it I had completed a book of poems,I now have 6 books in print and will share some of them with you as days go by.

While walking to work in the mornings I pass a sign that says; "Don't count the things you do,
Do the things that count."
It reminds me that in my life I try to be inspired by all things that go on around me,and by the people that I come in contact with in one way or another. In the same way I try to live my life and do things in my life that will inspire others in some way.I hope that as this blog progresses that I can share some of these things with you.

This afternoon I walked home from work in the sauna we call a New York summers day.I will take a short break and then go out for a run.It is these run ,and the ones in the depths of winter that give us the base we need to run races during the year.

What a difference a day makes, awoke feeling much better, and as Utpal and myself went out for our sunday morning run it began to rain lightly. The rain made our run quite pleasant,it is so much easier to run in a light rain, than the warm humid conditions of the last few days.

Each day can be interesting. This morning I awoke feeling not so good ,with a sinus problem that i think was brought on by the weather. After feeling a little not so good I went for a short run, that made it feel better. The wonder of a short nap in the afternoon and I was in good shape by the early evening. We learn how to get through each day the best we can.

Friday, July 15, 2005

The weather in New York is very steamy at the moment. When you run it almost feels like you are breathing water. It takes a lot of energy. The nights are reasonably cool, which meens you can sleep ok.Let us see what the weekend brings.

Sometimes the day seems to go by so quickly that it is almost over before you know it.European soccer has started ( both uefa cup,and champions league ) so I am in heaven.a friend of mine from Serbia is here and he is always asking me what the scores are,so we enjoy the competitions together. We are looking forward to the new season. happy bastille day.

It is almost like a nice spring day here in New York, with the occasional shower that comes as a result of the remnants of a hurrican called Dennis. It seems that Dennis will visit for a few days.

Happy Birthday IRINA

Ok I was born and raised in England,my father was from Yugoslavia, and I say Yugoslavia because that was the name of the country when I was born and still that when my father died.My mother was english, though she was born in Canada.I grew up in an area of England that was quite rural, but had the advantage of a small town not too far away.

Monday, July 11, 2005

There is an old english novelty song that goes;today's Monday,Monday is washing day, is everybody happy, you bet your life we are.So today I do my washing, and later I am happy.

Happy Birthday to Bati

Sunday, July 10, 2005

This morning got out the door at 7:30 to run with my friend Utpal.I planned to run for about an hour,he had a different plan, and we ended up running for 3 hours. He plans to run a marathon at the end of August, but I had just run one 3 weeks ago,so after about 2 hours it was getting difficult for me .I mixed in some walking and got a Blackberry slurpee at seven eleven, and this got me through the work out.A tough but successful training run,and still the whole day ahead of me.

Saturday, July 09, 2005

Yesterday it rained all day,the temp's were about 20 degrees below the normal average for this time of the year.but as is natures want today is bright and cool and dry.I ran a 2 mile race this morning and managed a time of 14 mins 54 seconds which is not bad for me at the moment ,but I hope to improve that as the summer goes on.Each new day brings new treasures.

Friday, July 08, 2005

Interesting start to the day here in New York, rain started at about 5am and they say that there could be anything from 1" of rain to 5" of rain before it all ends. The temp's are also quite cool for July only a high of 69f.Not a day to say too much, since all our thoughts are with those in London.
God Bless you all!

Life can be like a beautiful flower just a little out of focus. Posted by Picasa

Wednesday, July 06, 2005

I was really happy to hear this morning that London had been awarded the 2012 olympics.London was the last place I lived before I moved to New York,it will be the first time in the UK for more than 60 years, and I think they will do a good job, like they did with the Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Now here in New York after a little rain last night ,it has turned into a mild sauna.Time seems to go really quicklyfor some reason.

Tuesday, July 05, 2005

So it was back to work America, though one guy called in sick. Not too warm but sticky was the weather of the day,the day seemed to go very quickly,so I think the little break helped a lot.And now lance Armstrong is leading the tour.can he make it 7 in a row?

Monday, July 04, 2005

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA !! what a beautiful morning on this special day.I walked 3 miles over to a friends mother's house and spent a couple of hours helping do some gardening and cleaning her garage. Then with a backpack full of my work clothes I ran back to my house. It seems unusually quiet here in New York for 4th of July, but I am sure things will liven up later in the day.I hope all of you have a nice day and stay safe.

Sunday, July 03, 2005

When I went out for my run this morning it was 66F ( 17C ),beautiful weather for running.I seem to have recovered from my marathon 2 weeks ago and my hard week at work.and though I only ran 5 miles ,it was quality running.I don't know how long this nice weather will keep up,but it is really appreciated.I hope things are just as nice for all of you out there.

Saturday, July 02, 2005

Hey it's summer,Venus Williams wins wimbledon,Lance Armstrong is riding his bike in France, and Bob Geldoff has organised some music concerts. What more do you want.Just remember to kep it simple, problems only come when you complicate things.

Friday, July 01, 2005

Can you believe that it is july!Where do the days go,it only seems like yesterday that it was new year and I was coming back to New York from England. So much has happened and hopefully much more to come in the rest of the year.the only way to find out is to stay tuned
